“…the easiest party I’ve ever hosted!”

No pressure but… doesn’t Elaine’s enthusiasm make you want to host?? We’re looking for hosts for May and beyond. Contact Hope!

Elaine Kaiser said this of the 1/20 Savor Eldorado event at her and Art’s home:

“That was the easiest party I’ve ever hosted!  Within an hour of everyone leaving, my house looked like no one had been there.  No prep work, cooking, dishes to do… and we even came away with a couple bottles of wine!  I’d be happy to host again in the future if you need me!”

Elaine and Art will be hosting again on Sunday, July 7, 2019. Many of you have mentioned wanting to host in the summer so sign up soon! We’re looking at Sundays late in the month.

Some Pics from 1/20

The last Savor party was fantastic. 40 + guests gathered in Elaine and Art Kaiser’s beautiful home, gracing each other with delicious food and drink. Dadou played his accordion which was truly perfect for the space, and Cyndi Harlan shared and sold her lovely art. Honestly, these events are a joy to produce. I’m so grateful to everyone involved and to all our raffle ticket buyers. Our good treasurer Kay Castelle reports that we have $388 in the till. That means we’re set for our next musician and raffle, and we have a $100 reserve. With $88 remaining we are only $12 away from our first donation to a local organization. How fun is that? All we need now is a host for the next event… Is it you?

1/20 Savor is Booked

Savor friends, we are booked up for the upcoming Savor Eldorado event at Elaine and Art Kaiser’s home, on Sunday 1/20 from 3pm to 6pm. Sorry if you missed the RSVP option in time. These parties are filling up fast – less than 2 days in this case. You need to get on the mailing list to be notified first. There will be a waiting list form for the next events.

RAFFLE: Every $10 suggested donation gets 2 raffle tickets, making you eligible to win a $100 bill. The drawing will be held at about 5:30 pm. Must be present to win. Thanks again to Kay and Gary for becoming the official treasurers in addition to being our raffle-masters! We are thrilled to start saving extra raffle money to donate to local organizations. More about that as the money comes in.

Note from Hope: Great news! We have an artist and a musician for this event. To keep the creative contributions flowing, I have opened the field to artists and musicians beyond the borders of Eldorado. This Sunday we have a local musician who often plays at restaurants in town: Dadou Romanovsky on accordion. We also have Cyndi Harlan showing her paintings, including many of her small 4″x4″ pieces. I love her little abstracts!!

Would you like to host the February party, or beyond? Please contact Hope. It’s fun! And remember, it’s a potluck so not a huge project.

GREAT NEWS! We have a chair-master. Henrietta Jacobs is going to store and transport the four boxes of folding chairs for Savor Eldorado. We are very grateful to Anita Shultz (check out her jewelry) who has patiently stored the chairs in her garage for the last couple years.

EXTRA: You are invited to join Hope Kiah and Jim Harlan for Americana acoustic guitar, vocals and improv flute at Upper Crust in Eldorado on Friday 2/1. Read more here.

News & Some Pics from 12/9

NOTE FROM HOPE: Looks like we are getting filled up with RSVP’s really quickly these days. The 12/9 party was booked in 4 days after the invitation went out. So keep your eyes peeled and if you’re not on the newsletter list, go here right away to sign up. (Notice of the 1/20/2019 event at Elaine and Art Kaiser’s home should be coming out soon.) I understand that some of you didn’t hear back from me after you RSVP’d and I’m creating fail safes for that. Sorry!

Nicky and Debbie

Another fun Savor Eldorado happened on 12/9. Nicky and Ian Lambden were superb hosts who prepped their home beautifully for the 40-odd guests that showed up, helped by their generous guests from Las Cruces, Debbie and Mike. Thank you to all who attended, bought raffle tickets and offered up delicious food, libations and fun!

Sandra McKnight sang her heart out with excellent piano accompaniment by Kirk Kadish who enjoyed Nicky and Ian’s Baldwin baby grand.

Thanks to the many of you helped out that day, including Cymantha Higgins who showed up early to volunteer. Mari Clements also helped out, and, apparently for her efforts, won the $100 raffle! Speaking of volunteers, we need a chair-master. A very kind Anita Shultz has been housing our four boxes of 4 folding chairs each in her garage. I’ve been picking them up and dropping them off. Is there anyone out there with space for the chairs and interest in delivering and picking them up? Call Hope at 505-920-2256 or use the contact form. Thank you!

Kay Castelle and Gary Stoller were again our trusty raffle-masters, taking in more than enough to pay the musicians. We’re $68 in the black! I’m thrilled to announce that Kay and Gary have offered to be the treasurers for Savor Eldorado. We are making plans to save enough money to follow in the footsteps of the Eldorado Arts and Crafts Association and start giving away excess cash donations locally to:

  • El Dorado Fire & Rescue
  • Vista Grande Public Library
  • Ken & Patty Adams Senior Center
  • Santa Fe Search & Rescue
  • El Dorado school Art Department

HOW FUN IS THAT??

The below pics were taken mostly by Kay Castelle and Jan Burke. Thank you!
